Focus on La Forestière 2026 The ultimate event in the MTB Alpine Cup challenge, La Forestière will also support the French XCM Elite and Masters
The MB Ultra Somfy, flagship event of the MB Race and second round of the MTB Alpine Cup challenge, is more than just a mountain bike race, it’ s above all a challenge against yourself. Yes, the course will push you beyond your physical limits, of course, but also your mental ones.
And to give you an idea of what’s in store, here are the top 3 key sections of the MB Ultra Somfy (yes, three top 3, because there’s a lot to say about the 140 km course):
1️⃣ Km 16 – From Col du Jaillet to Plan de la Giettaz: 3.8 km | 420 m D-
From the very first kilometers, the MB Ultra Somfy sets the tone. At 16 km, you’ll tackle the course’s first technical descent. This fast, rhythmic descent is a concentrate of pleasure and commitment. But watch out for the roots. You’ll have to be careful with the trajectories you follow, because you can’t cheat on this descent, you have to be in the tempo right away.
2️⃣ Km 96 – Descente des Mandarines: 3,8 km | 630 m D-
After long hours of effort, this mythical descent of the MB Ultra Somfy puts nerves and piloting to the test. Longer, steeper and more committed, it demands composure and control to stay clear-headed when fatigue sets in and to reach Combloux and the 100 km mark!
3️⃣ Km 128 – Christomet descent: 2.6 km | 440 m D-
The final technical test of the course is the Christomet descent. At this stage of the race, after more than 128km, you’ll need to be clear-headed on this demanding descent, where you’ll draw on your last resources before heading for the finish.
1️⃣ Km 42.8 – From Praz-sur-Arly to the summit of Ban Rouge: 12.2 km | 989 m D+
One of the emblematic climbs of the MB Ultra Somfy, with a very, very steep finish (have you seen our poster? it’s here!). Long, steady and merciless, time seems to stretch on this climb, the mind can take a beating and the legs burn. But when you finally reach Ban Rouge, you know you’ve just passed a major milestone in the race.
2️⃣ Km 84,7 – La montée des Lanches – 5,3 km | 523 m D+
A terribly intense climb after more than 84 km of racing. This climb breaks the rhythm and tests your mental strength. But rest assured, after this, the 100 km finish line is in your sights!
3️⃣ Km 119.6 – To the Tête de Torraz: 4.8 km | 551 m D+
Placed at the end of the course, this climb is a real wall. Every pedal stroke is a challenge, but every meter gained brings us one step closer to our personal goal: to become a finisher of the MB Ultra Somfy 140 km.
1️⃣ Km 54.8 – Summit of Ban Rouge with exceptional views of the Mont Blanc, Beaufortain and Mont Charvin massifs
A grandiose panorama that leaves a lasting impression. At this point, the exhaustion of the ascent to Ban Rouge gradually gives way to wonder. A view that almost makes you forget what you’ve just experienced!
2️⃣ Km 83 – Single de Longemallewith views of Mont Blanc and Dôme de Miage
Take time to look up on this descent: Mont Blanc looms majestically overhead, while your bike dances along a fun trail! A pure moment of pleasure.
3️⃣ Km 124.6 -The famous Tête de Torraz and its 360° view of the Aravis chain, Mont Blanc and the Beaufortain
Last spectacular balcony before the final descent to the 140km finish line, you’ve earned this view. Let’s just say it’s our ultimate gift after an intense day on the bike, and now it’s time to pick up your mug at the finish!
